From 1974 until approximately 2000, large wood fires burned bright in The Rock Fireplace in The Solarium. It was used less frequently in recent years, due to the short chimney height. To maximize convenience & reduce emissions, an Archgard furnace was installed in 2021. It is optimized to reduce typical gas consumption by up to 35%! It is configured via the thermostat located in the stairwell leading to The Loft.
